Freezing pork    Posted 12-16-2002 at 11:28:44       [Reply]  [Send Email]
Does anybody know how long pork will keep in the freezer. I read somewhere that it won't keep that long frozen. What about breakfast sausage? Thanks.

in my opinion any prouct containing salt will not store well as salt free products. salt keeps it from freezing as solid .

Those are general guidlines for pork. I've kept pork longer with no problems at times, and have had some go bad in less time than indicated in the above schedule. I can't tell you why, I don't know. I do disagree strongly with the 1-2 months for smoked sausage. I recently ate the last bit from last years supply, done in Feb 2001, still taste great.
