I imagine you are talking to another Donna, as there are several of us, and I haven't posted much lately. My mom named me after a good friend named Margaleen, so that is my middle name. I have noticed that most ladies named Donna were born in the 1940's, and my theory is that the name became so popular then because people loved Donna Reed, the actress.

Hi- no I was actually writing to you-but was happy to see other donna"s here. I was born later half of the 1950's. My mom named me after a brother who was also borned in June, 4 years earlier who is named Donald. Hi to all the other donna's outhere.

I thought there was a song (50's?) started out
"Hey, Hey Donna". Then there was Peggy Sue, Linda. My parents almost named me Tina Louise,
after that actress. Thank God, they didn't.
I was never teena, if ya know what I mean. Always
a short, big-boned farm kid, part tom-boy, part lady, whatever I choose to be at any given moment!

This thing about Donna's is weird. Especially about the 1940's Donna's.

Miz Sarge's real name is Dorothy BUT she had an Aunt, mentally deficient, who couldn't remember that so she always called her Donna. The name stuck and now the entire family calls her Donna.
