My husband would like to have a old pull type combine like he had when he was a boy. Does anyone know where I might find one? His was a John Deere.

photo gallery has a picture of one.    Posted 12-30-2002 at 20:15:27       [Reply]  [No Email]

I would be interested in hearing about your husbands experience with one. Was it a bagger?
I don't think ours has ever spent a night out
in the weather. We have the original manuals also.
They are some piece of work. Mike D.

There seem to be a few in this area (Wyoming-Dakota). I just bought a working model, 1927 McCormick Deereing for $200. Check with Caseman-d on the Case YT board. He's into threshing with old equipment in the Sturgis SD area.

Go over onto the Yesterday's Tractors website if you haven't already and post your question on the appropriate discussion forum. (Click on YT Mag, left side of this page.) It can't hurt to ask.

I've known people around here to give them away. My husband was offered one, but didn't have a use for it or a place to put it, so he declined the offer. Maybe if you'd place an ad in the local paper you'd come up with one.
