Any one out there prospecting?

Got my licence a few years back. Haven't had
much luck but found some interesting gem material.
Got 2 pans a 12 and a 16. The old 86 Comanche is
starting to give me problems, but at one time I
could count on it to take me up the logging
trails 300 miles from nowhere around Val D'or,Que.
I plan to follow up on a story my grandfather
told me years ago. Back in 1910 he used to do
logging in the mountains and there was a camp for
the men. They didn't work on Sunday and my grandfather and another man decided to go hunting. About a couple miles from the camp they seperated
as they approached a lake. The other guy was walking along and he saw something metallic. He
picked it up and it was a rock with yellow veins
in it. It was a fresh break and not glacial worn. He thought it must be pyrite. The next week
he had it assayed and it was gold. He went back
but couldn't find the location and the claims
died out through the years. The lode was never
found. My grandad gave me the location within a
square mile based on what his buddy said and
the speed he was walking. As far as he knew the professionals don't have it pinned down that close.
Bad news is that CPR and Co. bought up
the land and made it a wilderness camp site. When
I approached them they said they knew what I was
prospecting for and would not give me permission
to prospect and that they had their own prospectors. I plan to go back as a regular camper
and do a lot of dishwashing of my dirty plates if you know what I mean. I'd rather mine, but if I can't the powdered stuff in a pouch is good enough for me (and the kids). Maybe one day.
Anyone in Minnesota found that glacial
morrain that they were looking for?. Supposed to be loaded with diamonds.
Another possible, Divers!. They still haven't found that british pay ship that was sank just west of Wolfe Island, Lake Ontario in the war of 1812.

1)Any more info on that Pay Ship?
2)Reference Prospecting Licence: Have you had much work? I am at a x-roads and have thought of prospecting. I would welcome any comments.

35 year ago I prospected up around Chibogamau down to Val-d'Or, I camped between the two all summer on a little lake, from the time the ice was out. Back then they had not started cutting & chipping the woods and there were few other folks around besides Indians. I found a lot of color.
I have prospected in Alberta and had a claim there for a few years near Cherry Point, 50 miles east of Dawson Creek. I also have dipped my pan in New Mexico, Arizon, South Carolina, BC. Alaska. Until 4 years ago I had a pretty good claim in Oregon with moslty real fine gold.
The cold water is more that I can stand any more so my dredge and equipment are stored away in the barn and there is gold in my creek less that 600' away from where I sit at this moment.
I have tried to track down many of these so called "lost mines" or loads, there are probably more lost treasure then there is found.
