a few years back, I bought a couple pair of skis at a church bazarre. One year about Christmas, I took 2x6s about 30 inches long and cut them to match the contour of the front of the skis and cut the skis off at thirty inches. we used oak for cross pieces and made two "trucks" The rear truck was fastened to a 2x12 plank about 9 feet long using a piece of one inch pipe so it could rock up and down with the bumps. The front was just mounted with a heavy 3/4 inch bolt as a pivot point. I did have foot pegs for steering. We took that to a county park after a blizzaed in 1996 and that thing sure flew. We had 5 adults on it and hit a bump and went airbourne. My wife said we wre sure to need an ambulance if we kept riding it. It worked good to pull behind the old David Bradley too. Put chains on the tires though, that thing pulled us five adults on that sled up some real steep hills.
