The Associated Press reports you can eat a 20 ounce burger at NYC's 135 year Old Homestead Restaurant for only $41.00 plus 8&1/4% sales tax. The restaurant calls their burger The World's Most Decadent Hamburger. I wonder if you could call New York City - The World's Most Decadent City? And Cowboy Joe's Radio Ranch - The Most Decadent Western Music Radio Show not broadcasting on a regular/sane station?

I'm a little surprised that they serve anything made out of meat...at any price...may be it's a test...;)

The sad thing is the farmer/rancher that raised that beef only recieved .70/# for it.A far cry from the $32.80 retail. That's decadent!

Personally I prefer CALF fries. Ate some good ones at Bruce's (cafe) in Severance, CO.

Cowboy Joe    Posted 01-12-2003 at 13:22:52       [Reply]  [No Email]
an apt description of most politicians and liars-I mean lawyers.

decadent = overly self-indulgent, self-satisfying to the extreme.
The word is often used to describe fancy, rich desserts.
A hamburger made from ground filet mignon, on a freshly baked roll, with home-made gourmet mayo and fresh-from-the-garden produce might be described as decadent (and foolish) (and not worth $41.00 IMHO).
Have a decadent day!

p.s. It also can be used to describe one in a state of mental decay, as in someone willing to pay $41.00 for a hamburger.

I tend to lean toward the last definition in this instance! But... "A fool and his money will soon be departed"!!! AIN"T IT??!!
