Looking for a Mail truck

My passion is farming, but as many of us have experienced, I needed to supplement my income. We have 6 kids, so we opted to have me go to work at the Post Office Part Time. I would like to find a regular Mail truck to use. Does any one know where to locate one?

I have a RHD postal jeep for sale if anyone is still looking. Its completely rebuilt one year ago(back to the rear), and has a year old paint job and year old tires. Its the best one I've ever seen - I worked at two different P.O.s. I changed careers so I need to sell. I would like to get $2900 for it. You can find one for less but they're usually in the shop a lot. Let me know if you're interested. I have all the records and a picture. Thank you, Cheryl

You advertised to sell a RHD vehicle early in
July. Is it still available? We are rural
newspaper carriers looking for a replacement
vehicle.

The little delivery trucks don't get sold to the public, the Jeeps do however and I can't think of a better vehicle for the job.
Look in your local "for sale" rag, you'll probably find one. Also try www.postaljeep.com.
Some hints: Look for one with a good body, jeeps stored outside all winter will have less rust than those brought in.
Look for the 6cyl engine. Its a 232ci straight 6. Parts are plentiful, they're easy to work on and cheap to keep running forever. They also get better gas mileage with more power than the 4cyl.

Postal jeeps also had limited slip rear diffs, which can be a little squirrely to drive if you aren't used to it. Usually all the limited slip clutches are worn out by the time they get sold but its still something to look out for.

Jeep DJ (Dispatch Jeep) for sale in Ferrisburgh, Vermont, or it was there last week end and had been for about 2 months.
Good shape and had a 304 swapped in.
Of course you do realize that DJ's are only 2WD, and are about as top heavy as they come...

Sure don't see many of those little jewels around much anymore. Try contacting the Postmaster Generals office in your region and inquire as to when they have sales of equipment.

I would imagine that since they are right hand drive they are being bought up and shipped to those countries that drive on the wrong side of the road.

We tried that. It turns out that now they crush them when they are done with them, at least in the Twin Cities.
