Does anyone know of any saw mills in the area that I could buy rough cut oak lumber? I live in eastern central Texas and could go as far as OK or LA to get it. I have a 20' gooseneck to haul it. I need enough to cover a 600 sq.ft. room indoors.
I'm adding a den/kitchen to our cabin on Lake Limestone and my wife wants it rustic! I'm trying to give her rustic!!!
Also, if you know of anyone who has rough oak lumber for sale, let me know.
Burrhead, surely you know somebody!

You can try the Kautz Sawmill in Caldwell
hone number (979) 567-0444.

They might not have oak when you call but they could tell you where to go look.

I'll check this bunch out by me. There's a Mom and Pop 2 man mill just up the road.

The Pop is about as lazy as a man can get and still breath but his 2 hired men turn out some good lumber.

How far away are you? I'm just off of I-10, 50 miles east of Houston at Hankamer, Tx.

We're about 150 miles north of Houston west of I-45, northwest of Centerville. Wouldn't be bad at all visiting your part of the woods.
Let us know what you find out and if it works out, we'll buy you a cup of coffee...maybe something to eat if the missus is hungry...
Thanks for your reply!

There is a saw mill across the road from me in Timpson but I do not think they cut anything but pine. Mr. Presnal here in Kenefick will costum cut any thing you want and it is cheaper if you supply the wood. I have seen him do cypres beams and walnut for mantels. I think there are atleast 3 more family owned mills in the Dayton/Kenefick area. Hoope you find one.

Where are these towns? They don't sound familiar to me. I'm originally from SE Oklahoma east of Hugo. Now I'm at Lake Limestone in Texas sort of between Houston and Dallas. Let me know what state you are from and I'll look 'em up on the map.
