Horses in the yard

We live on 15 acres of what used to be pasture land. My in-laws live next door and they have 4 horses. We like to let them turn their horses out to graze on our land occasionally, but would like to be able to keep them out of our yard. Fencing is not an option due to several reasons. Does anyone have a sugestion that is harmless to not only the horses but all the other animals, such as a repellent?

We use a temp. electric fence to put horses in a specific area or keep them out of an area. Go to your local feed store and they will give you all kinds of options to fit your area and price. I have one that works off of 6 D-cell batteries and we even take it to the mountains to use as a corral.

Short of fences you're stuck with the horses. However you could put up a temperary electric fence but it will only last until you move it. They will keep you from having mow the law though.
