why is it that when the temp is 0 all night long my pipes dont freze but when it gets up to about 20 deg out the freze up that 20 deg is at noon anybody know?????dummys want to know...lol

It is not just the ambient temp...Wind direction plays alot...Saturday AM when it was -18 here, my SIster had no troubles...Last night it was only -12, but the wind was just right so her pipes froze...

Did jer leave the water drippy during the very cold and turn it off during the warmer?
Get some hot water in the pipe which freezes easier?

I dunno, sounds like gremlins to me.
