I billed the U.S. Government!

A couple of months back, I'd asked y'all about the annual USDA Census of Agriculture. Well, after reading your answers, and doing some more research (I read the law) and giving it a lot of thought, I figured I'd go ahead and fill out the census form and return it...seems like there *might* be some benefit to farmers as a whole come out of it.

*But* I did something else: I stapled an invoice to the form, billing the government for 2 hours of my time plus the cost of making a file copy for my farm records. They estimated that it takes the average farmer 2 hours to fill out the form, so I figure that is fair...we'll see what happens.

Bet I'm now on the U.S. government's "smart-aleckss" list! :-) If I disappear in the next few months, better not ask any questions!

Once I had to go see a Dr to get my precription refilled. After waiting 2 hours past my appointment time, I finally got to see him, he asked what I was there for, I told him and he wrote the precription and showed me out, the girl at the desk gave me a bill to pay for 80 bucks. I went out to my truck and got a invoice and billed them for 2 hours @$30.00, total $60.00 gave it to them with a check for 20 bucks and walked out. ever since then my wait is no more than 15 minutes!

I did sort of the same thing with Bell South Phone Co. They add an additionaL $1.50 to my bill for a "Statement Fee" so I deducted $1.50 from my payment for a checkwriting fee. They were not impressed nor very receptive to the idea and just added the reduction to my next months bill.

They got you anyway you turn. Comcast cable has just raised our monthly TV rate to cover new channels added. The channels show up in the menu but are not connected yet. Said they would have raised prices anyway. If it were up to me I'd tell em to come get their cable off my house but the wife said.....well better not go there....

We haven't had cable for the 3 years I've been out of college. Hasn't hurt us a bit.
Frankly we're in an area where theres NO broadcast TV except for the spanish channel and that doesn't come in too good.
So we read, look on the net, work on hobbies, listen to the radio.
It was hard at first, and when I go someplace that has tv I do tend to get sucked it, but I feel better for not having it here.

You can have that dadburn phone too, rings everytime you sit down to supper or get into something. Told the wife that also and she said....well I can't say that either....

hey Mac, justbecause it rings don't mean you "have" to pick it up. If it's important, they'll call back.

It's the noise, I say the noise. Interrupts my senerity. No I,m not that bad but it is the telemarkerter alway wanting to sell something or going to send you something. My phone wouldn't ring much if it weren't for them.

Doesn't that mean that you'd still have to pick it up eventually?
