Lazy Al from Mi on 2003-01-24 you posted a picture of your fake stone. Wife sort of liked it! Is it fireproof/resistant? She makes some wild fires!

Oh,,,,,her fires are in the stove!

Where did you get it, if you don't mind telling? Sure would save time and money instead of me buying the real stones she saw in Palestine the other day going to pick up her "RUSTIC" lumber!

Did masonry for 15 years, and laid a lot of culture stone.

If you're looking at it as a hearth or firewall behind a stove, make sure the manufacturer rates it for that!

Click on Technical Info on the left of the page, then FAQ's.

They look to me like they are made of cement so I would think they are fire proof . Just a guess but they look like maybe they spray a stone looking material in a form and fill it with concrete . Did you read how I installed it as a back wall to our wood range ? with a space behind it for air to circulate . Never gave it a thought if it would get hot enough to crack or pop off , like trying to use a torch on a concrete floor ,
but its held up good .
Got it at a local redy mix , block plant type business in town and it is owen corning , I have seen it at Home Depot There must be places where you could check it out near you . With out going clear to Palestine

She was in Palestine? And you're worried about how far it is between NH and Texas??
