Laundry water softener
[Return to Topics]

I came across a home-remedy to remove spots on fabrics requiring laundry water softener.

I was unable to find it in stores.

Any suggestions?

Thank you.

Borax...around here most all the grocery stores carry it in the laundry aisle, but I guess it might depend where you live.

Re: the Borax. Is it just called Borax or something more specific? Do you know what the box looks like?

I was looking for a "laundry water softener" to try a method of cleaning silver (1 quart hot water, 1 T water softener, 1 T salt, and a sheet of aluminum foil). When I typed it into Google, one of the products it brought up was Calgon. Surely that's in your store. As for Borax - when I was a kid it was advertised as (something like) 20 Mule Team Borax. I believe the mule team was shown on the box. Good luck
