Finally got a chance to see your response to my last post (new baby, no time). I know Dee-Mack road. Yes, the Eureka-Washington area is a great place to raise a family. I loved growing up there. Used to go sledding down the hill there in Eureka every winter - great memories. My mom still lives in Washington. Just moved Grandma to the Apostolic Home in Eureka. She and Grandpa were some of the early residents of Washington. She talks about when the road to Peoria was dirt & they'd take the "wagon" to Peoria once a month for "supplies." It drove her crazy to see what she thought was terrible traffic through town nowdays. She also went to Washington High School. Unfortunately, all of us kids moved away and now my line of folks in Washington will be done. My sister & I talk about how we feel obligated to move back & send the 4th generation through Washington High. But we've got families, husbands with jobs elsewhere. . . I do feel sad about that, my roots are in deep in that community. Got extended family all over the history of that place. Mom's still there, so we get back alot. Now I live in Frankfort, IL but there's no place like home. -Sara
