What do you guys think about crop circles? I am thinking of doing a short fiction work on the phenomenon and I was just wondering what you guys think of them......if you don't mind.

Cindi, what do you think of the cravings on the South American landscapes? The moving rocks? Yes, I think there is something to the crop circles. Not all, as many have been proven to be man-made. The few that can't be explained have the plant shaft bent, not broken, like the man-made ones. The crops are not destroyed. Also, some of them have been made in less than half an hour, no one can do that. Who knows? There's a lot out there that can't be explained. How about Area 51, too?

I sent you an e mail. I would like to hear more about the carvings, I am not familiar with them

The Plains Of Nazca...

There are huge ancient pictographs in many parts of the world, that are only visible from the sky...Nazca is just the most famous place...

See the link...

Thanks, I could not think of the name.

Jimbob    Posted 02-20-2003 at 13:37:57       [Reply]  [No Email]
I'll take a chance here: I usually just project a person that is easy going & kind of Budweiser beer dumb. Easier for most people to interact with me & most of the time I am 'Jimbob dumb'. However, I have had NASA call my house & I manufacture things for them- not flight critical items! You get the idea.

Anyways, some of these crop circles are fake & the others? I am not sure, but as advanced as we seem, technology & understanding the forces plus the universe around us has just started. People back in the very early 1900s thought they were so advanced- flying machines, horseless buggys, electric light bulbs, even a voice recorder from Thomas Edison- funny.

Today, we are about nowhere regarding technology. A good example is the light emitting diode called LED. Not new, it was invented in 1921. It was a solid-state device just short of being a transistor. If it would have been developed, we might have had home computers 30 years ago. Being overlooked, well you now know the story. It would be crazy to think we know & understand it all.

These crop circles may be some force unknown that lets say somehow 'mixes' with the earths powerful magnetic field with some other force generated off of the planet- most likely naturally occuring & possibly from the sun or something else. That is my guess. The sun has caused power outages, lighted up the whole east coast of Canada with electromagnetic energy & stopped long distance radio communications just with sunspot eruptions.
As for UFOs, think about the northern lights. Again, naturally occurring & UFO sightings may be some magnetic force amplified with another outside force. Sure it could be visable by radar & a persons eye. Full of magnetic energy, the force could cause burns & health issues if a person became exposed just like a microwave oven could. You know, a crop circle was found with heating of the plant stems to the point of having the broken joints actually blown out. Now who could apply this energy to each stem?
What about spontanious human combustion. This is a known fact, it happens. Bet it is the same natural force focused like crop circles.
I do not believe alien being are here at least not in a human body type form, just unknown forces here- my 2 cents. Hope I have not scared everyone away with my comments. Jimbob

You brought up another phenomenon that really interests me and that is spotaneous human combustion. I have seen experiements done to try and figure out what causes this and it's still a mystery. I guess some things always will be. I enjoyed your 'two cents'.

Jimbob    Posted 02-20-2003 at 18:14:42       [Reply]  [No Email]
This freaky item is REAL. Many reports, leftover evidence, not a UFO mabby here. It is a strange form of energy that sets the person on fire without burning the surroundings. How can a person burn up in a chair leaving shoes behind & the chair is left behind. Some odd magnetic high-frequency waves like a microwave. Microwave cooks the food, yet the plastic dish is not heated. TWLIGHT ZONE again! Anyways, enough wierd talk for me. Back to raising animals, preparing for hay crop & life!

Maybe you would benefit from coming to 'two cents forum' I too love talking about weird stuff, so you can feel free to bring up whatever subject you like and are sure to have lots of responses.

Les...fortunate    Posted 02-20-2003 at 12:06:37       [Reply]  [No Email]
I personally would not be interested. Dumb subject, IMO. Could not care less. (Note the proper use of the phrase. To say "I could care less" when meaning the opposite is a good way to show your ignorance. Just a "word to the wise".)

I believe it is entirely possible that Earth has been visited by intelligent life forms from other places (whether planets or dimensions) many times and that at least SOME of these circles could have been created by something other than hoaxers from Earth. If you see one you can't explain near you, DO NOT, let me repeat DO NOT watch the movie, "Signs." LOL!
And yes, I saw an aircraft I could not explain years ago. Guess it could have been a "UFO." There was a sighting of a UFO near here years ago by some folks who live here and it was being followed by government types, helicopters and such. The three witnesses experienced physical symtoms of burns and health problems afterward and the government types made them out to be crackpots so they would finally shut up about it. Now, that could have been a bonifide UFO or it could have been a government experiment gone wrong, but I DO believe they saw what they said they saw. See the Landrum case of UFO sightings for referance.

We often see visions around My uncle's still too. Have suffered burns on ocassion and had government people shut us down too. Never any intelligent life forms though.

Holy crap...although this one looks like it could have been staged, who knows.

Salmoneye    Posted 02-20-2003 at 09:59:05       [Reply]  [Send Email]
Like you said though...

Darn hard to do with 75 people...In the dark...and without being able to see what it looks like from 1000 feet up...

Talented buggers...even if they are outlaws...

Walt    Posted 02-20-2003 at 10:15:12       [Reply]  [Send Email]
Do you really believe that?

Hahahahhahahahahahahahahahahah!

I must have missed the funny part...    Posted 02-20-2003 at 10:38:07       [Reply]  [Send Email]
What I said was...

"Talented buggers...even if they are outlaws..."

Where's the funny part again?

Cindi    Posted 02-20-2003 at 10:47:45       [Reply]  [No Email]
The only thing sadder than a blind man is a man with no inner vision.

Not replying...double posting...which is dumb, granted, but not underhanded in the least.

I beleive that there are some made by man and some made by something else.

rhouston    Posted 02-20-2003 at 07:42:43       [Reply]  [No Email]
man made saw a TV show about the guys who started them and how they were done. Quite simple really. The pranksters were really flabergasted that no one could see how it was done. However if you would like to write fiction about them please go ahead. (there will always be people who believe they are UFO related.)

Fawteen    Posted 02-20-2003 at 07:39:53       [Reply]  [No Email]
I can sum up my opinion in one word, but it won't make it past the potty filter. Leave us just say it involves the excrement of male bovines.

Farmer Wantabe    Posted 02-20-2003 at 07:32:42       [Reply]  [No Email]
I lean towards they are made by pranksters that give believers of little green men a cheap thrill. I have seen programs on TV that make a good case for both sides though. Guess until I see a UFO in person, I'll remain a skeptic.

Red Dave    Posted 02-20-2003 at 07:08:08       [Reply]  [No Email]
Made by clever people with not enough going on to keep them busy.

Dan    Posted 02-20-2003 at 06:35:55       [Reply]  [No Email]
Just like cattle mutilations, somehow to me they are more like man made.Yet I have never seen either including never having seen a ufo.You might be on the right track with the fiction.

Willy-N    Posted 02-20-2003 at 06:39:55       [Reply]  [No Email]
Don't like to say it but once I saw a bright object going real fast in the sky at night like a shooting star except it did a right angle sharp 90 deg turn then disapeared?? Nothing we have built could have turned that sharp or went that fast?? Not sure what it was mayby you could call that a UFO?? Mark H.

WallSal55    Posted 02-20-2003 at 07:43:52       [Reply]  [No Email]
Yep, I once observed what I thought was an airplane (clear lights). Then it did the 90
degree angle thing. Wondered what could manuever
like that? I wondered if helicopters could or
what?
I have been in the right place at the right
time--to see so many shooting stars, I wonder why
I ain't a millionaire. (I wish, money, money, money on them!)

Good Lord!    Posted 02-20-2003 at 10:21:42       [Reply]  [No Email]
hhmmmm... how long ya been sober now?

Willy-N    Posted 02-20-2003 at 08:05:53       [Reply]  [No Email]
By the way airplanes and jet moved in the sky this must have been going around 20,000 mph plus. I would have thought I did not see it except my daughter saw it also and I asked her what she just saw and she discribed it just like what I saw?? Haven't seen any little green people yet and nothing since that time. Lot of planets and stars out there to say we are the only life form in the universe. Mark H.

REFER TO THE FOLLOWING: They are all over the world and have been going on for centuries but lately have become much more frequent, a fact which may in itself be significant.

The particular pattern I'm thinking of is massive, was done overnight and is mathematically exact as far as the pattern goes. It is speculated that to acheive this design in one night it would have taken seventy five people all of whom would not be allowed to make a single mistake while rushing around in the dark. All of whom must be sworn to secrecy and have no qualms about hoaxing or trespassing.

This is the only copy I have found thus far and it is on the cover of a book so it's small:
