I'll let you know when I find Mr Right again. I was married at 15, was married for 53 yrs. My husband has been dead for 3 yrs, and now I find it is time to move on.

Yeah I would. We've been through some crap that I don't think a lot of couples would have survived. And sure it ain't perfect, but it's pretty durn good.

I mean geez, she can pick ducks, clean fish, has her own tractor, and is almost as good a cook as me. How good does it get?

S    Posted 02-22-2003 at 07:10:54       [Reply]  [No Email]

cornfused    Posted 02-21-2003 at 16:41:22       [Reply]  [No Email]
Well obviously some of you men are mistaken by thinking you have the greatest wife around, she lives here! Absolutely! There has never been a sweeter woman walk the earth. I hope she dosen't see this thread, she might not answer in my favor! ☺

Sure I would, who else would put up with me?
All I can say is, she's my best friend, partner, mentor, and supervisor!
As I've told her many times, "If she ever leaves me,, I'm going with her"

Been married 35 years to same man, but it's been rough at times. When and where I grew up I didn't really know that I had a choice NOT to marry. Now, things are different. I'd stay single if I were young now. Maybe still have a kid, but the husband----(he'd never believe that I think this way).

YES!! He's the best that could happen to me...

We had to marry twiced. Last October we were married for a year. This comming March we celebrate our first anniversary, again!

BOSS    Posted 02-21-2003 at 13:53:21       [Reply]  [No Email]
Definetly..... 15 years in March, and have loved every minute of it. Yep, shes a keeper.

Ms. D    Posted 02-21-2003 at 13:44:12       [Reply]  [No Email]
You got that wrong, you old fart! I was the best thing that happened to you!
Love that burlgoat...and would marry him again in a minute...but someone said further down that it's harder being a wife than a hubby and that is the most truthful thing ever posted!...even if I get coffee in bed in the's the rest of the day that I pay dearly for that cup...

Only wish I was smart enough to do it when we first met unstead of waiting 15 years.

DON'T TELL HER I SAID THIS    Posted 02-21-2003 at 13:09:16       [Reply]  [Send Email]
Sorry to say, no I would not marry her again knowing now, what I wish I had known then. We won't get divorced because we have two small children. I remember when I was 19 some old guy I did'nt know, told me, "son, make damn sure you marry the right women, cause if you don't the rest of your life will be hell." Boy was he right.

donna    Posted 02-22-2003 at 08:13:39       [Reply]  [Send Email]
i don't think anyone has to tell her my guess is she already knows .she's probably as unhappy as you are .i waited 17 years [for the kids] and when i finally walked i could believe how much happier we both were. we still see each other at birthdays for the grandkids etc and i believe we are both happier. they say if it ain't broke don't fix it and that's true but on the other side like with a car you have to decide when your just investing more time and money than the darn thing is worth. sometimes you have to make a tough call and cut your losses life is too short to be miserable

Jimbob    Posted 02-21-2003 at 13:02:12       [Reply]  [No Email]
YES. After travelling all over the US on large expense accounts with plenty of entertainment money & fancy apartments, etc. I never went out on her after many approaches by other women. It is what keeps a marrage bonded tightly & part of the big picture. She is the best friend I ever had in the 53 years I been around.

Fawteen    Posted 02-21-2003 at 13:01:12       [Reply]  [No Email]
Yep, probably. Never been bright enough to learn from my mistakes...

Been married for 28 years. In all that time, we've had dang few "discussions" and ONE incident you could call a fight.

In 28 years, most of the passion has burned off, all the warts and moles have shown up, and we're still friends. Hard ta beat that.

I have waited all of my adult life to meet my current spouse. We are newly wed, as of Jan 26.03 I think my answer is obvious!

My reply the reason I ask, Gary, Mt Hermon, La    Posted 02-21-2003 at 11:38:14       [Reply]  [No Email]
YES no doubt, she's great

Now why I ask, I posed this question to several women I know who are appearantely happily married and was suprised even shocked at the percentage who said No.

A. Lurker    Posted 02-21-2003 at 12:26:52       [Reply]  [No Email]
prolly cause it's harder to be a wife than a husband.

Don't shoot me it's just an observation.

Donna from Mo    Posted 02-21-2003 at 12:33:30       [Reply]  [No Email]
Not at THIS house!

A. Lurker    Posted 02-21-2003 at 12:52:13       [Reply]  [No Email]
Donna you were not one who said "no" so it doesn't apply to you. I'll bet the ones who said no wouldn't marry anyone if given the chance to do it again.

only if....    Posted 02-21-2003 at 11:36:43       [Reply]  [Send Email]
...she'd have *me* this time around. You bet I'd do it again, can't imagine being without her.

I'd marry Cliff all over again, only quicker next time! He's the second-best thing that ever happened to me.

Greg VT    Posted 02-21-2003 at 11:30:05       [Reply]  [No Email]
Hope I don't have to do it over cause I musta caught her in weak moment when I got her to say yes the first time.

The odds of that happening again probably ain't good.

Current spouse?    Posted 02-21-2003 at 11:24:44       [Reply]  [Send Email]
She is my only spouse...and always will be...If I had it to do over...I'd have married her alot sooner...Unfortunately...She was married back then...

Willy-N    Posted 02-21-2003 at 11:23:55       [Reply]  [No Email]
Sure would in a heartbeat!! Very Happy being married to her! She is my other half. Mark H.

Mac/MS    Posted 02-21-2003 at 14:06:30       [Reply]  [Send Email]
I know what you mean. This is my third time, the other two like to sample the menu.

Salmoneye    Posted 02-21-2003 at 11:57:25       [Reply]  [Send Email]
You 'could' have...

Cindi    Posted 02-21-2003 at 12:08:49       [Reply]  [No Email]
No I didn't even know him then and he was married too. We both split up and then met each other within a year of the break ups and then did it right.
