I'm really looking forward to fresh asparagus this Spring out of my asparagus patch, but I'm NOT looking forward to the weeds and thick grass.
It's a large patch 100 by 50. I recently added 6 pounds of red clover seed to add nitrogen to the soil. can anyone tell me will this also help control the weeds and the grass? I really want to find a way to control the weeds and grass. Mulch is out of the question, I'd need a dump truck load.
I lightly till every fall.

Don't lightly till...Till as deep as that thing will go in the late (I mean Late) fall...You will never be able to hit the crowns with a tiller...and spread a little rocksalt on top and let it wash in over the winter...

Don't ask me why it works...Cuz I have no clue...Just know that it does...
