One son of my sons is an ROTC cadet, had told me he's been hassled a few times while wearing uniform on campus going to class. (I remember my brother in the same boat during Vietnam war--he got spat at while in uni on campus).

Now this morning's Washington Times reports that teachers in a Massechussets school have been hassling kids of reservists who were called up and are deploying. I'll post an extract below.

This really is getting me hacked off. Who do these numbskull *@@#$%$%&$ think they are? So much for honoring those who serve...think I'll go attend some "anti-war" rallies and pick a fight with these gutless pansies who pick on folks who can't or won't fight back.

Children of Maine Guard unit taunted by teachers
By Robert Stacy McCain
THE WASHINGTON TIMES

Members of the Maine National Guard, called up to prepare for an attack on Iraq, have asserted that their children are being harassed at school by teachers who oppose the war.
Guard members say their children are "coming home upset, depressed, crying," said Maj. Peter Rogers, a spokesman for the Maine National Guard. "This was based on some incidents that were happening in school, both in the classroom and on the playground."
In an e-mail sent to the parents of one child who had complained of harassment at school, National Guard officials said they had "over 30 complaints that name schools and individual principals, teachers and guidance counselors."

Hopefully they do a little attitude adjustment at that school and knock that teacher(s) down a peg or two.

I've restrained myself from making a comment on this because it makes me so mad that I can't be too coherent. This is just so .... wrong!

I'm going to stop now and go to my quiet place.

Unbelievable...

I bet that if this story gets enough coverage those teachers and the school administration will get what they deserve...

I don't understand why people are protesting going to war with a madman that will us any means to cause destruction to the US. These people are of the Muslem faith and are taught from BIRTH to hate Americans and it is ok to kill Americans. The muslem gain contol of every country they go to. It is a fact that the muslem faith is the most rapid growing relgion in the USA. Research this if you don't beleive it. You better wake up or one morning you or your children will be told "you can't worship the way you want to".

Bandit    Posted 02-28-2003 at 12:37:54       [Reply]  [No Email]
So we should restrict how the Muslims worship?
We are not at war with Muslims, we are at war with terrorists, Black, white, Jew Christian it doesnt matter. It's not a holy war for us. Don't make it what it's not.

I'm with you. I know it's wrong to want to see people get hurt or die in the effort, but I see no choice. SH is a snake in the grass and is just waiting for a chance to strike. Shame we can't just take him out with a garden hoe and be done with it.

I feel my Christian teaching is leaving me. Maybe we should take up a collection to send Iraq some more human shields. Not many protest in Wyoming but I already have someone lined up to feed my critters if I get three hots and a cot at county's expence if I feel protesting is getting out of hand.

I wasn't going to go here, but I can't stop myself.

FACT: Our education system has been innudated by a group of New World Order mentalities whose philosiphy is that "Any disagreement can be settled by negotiations, and yielding". Thisd has led tyo the mentality of blaming the warriors who chose to defend this Nation and swore an oath that they would do so.

I speak from long experience, over 52 years of active and retired service, and was spit on and yelled at, called "Baby Killer" in the Oakland Calif. airport in 1967 when returning from Nam. Incidentally he got his clock cleaned, and I spent the night in jail. The judge fined me time served and $5. Then told me in confidence I should have hit himm harder and broke his F-------- neck.

Then again look where ity happened. It isn't that far from the University at Berkley, which was a hotbed of Anti war sentiment. I am sure it was inspired by those same idiot educators who kept beating the old "Peace at any cost" theme.

After retioremenmt, and dealing in Veterans affairas and assisting vets and widows I used to say, and still do "You can curse the War over there all you want, just DO NOT curse the WARRIORS who went to fight it. They didn't start it, our politicians did. They just did what they swore they'd do, and that was to obey the orders of those appointed over me."

I'll get off the soap box now.

I don't want to get started on a rant here, might not be able to quit.

Suffice it to say, if it happens in any school I provide service to, there WILL be he!! to pay.

It helps that our Superintendent is a retired Army Major that flew Cobras in Viet Nam...

First of all, the fact that these people are trying to protect us aside, any dam fool knows that none of them just woke and said one day, I think I'll leave my family and travel to a strange country and risk getting killed. They are following orders. The stupidity of the human race never ceases to amaze me. I'll never understand it. Just hope nobody engages me on the subject face to face. I'll probably end up in jail.

Some days it's just real embarrassing to be a human.
