If somebody will provide me with some type of list regarding what is 'country talk appropriate' I will be happy to stay within the guidelines. Do we talk about country food? Country animals? Country folk? How to survive, exist, get along in the country, or the state of your own beloved country. Do we talk about country schools, churches, the dry goods store? You know of course that any subject brought up is going to wander and meander until it is anything but what it started out to be. Just like the post below sparked me to supply the cartoon. I guess that's just human nature, but it's worth a try I guess. Smile!

Cindi-
You're do'in fine! Carry on the way you were; sometimes this board tends to get a little bit of "tunnel vision" and needs its horizons broadened.

Cindi, build a man a fire and he will be warm for a day....Set a man on fire (not literaly but mentally)and he will be warm for the rest of his life!!!!!!! I kinda like your style , don't always agree but I like your style!!!! 135

Talk about anything you want, its nice to read some genuine stories about life. I don't respond to your posts, but I do read and enjoy them.

Keep it up.

If we aren't a big family here, why should we keep coming back??

You can please some of the people some of the time and you can please all the people none of the time.

As for my post, I don't mean to step on anyones toes but it is like church service, if what the preacher is saying gets to you it must be hitting pretty close to home. I won't always agree with what is posted and being humans with different minds, all you will not always agree with what I post. Be pretty boring is everyone agreed, wouldn't you say?

The way I see it if different ideas, thoughts were not wanted no one would be here.

Cindi I have always enjoyed what you have to say. Keep it up.

Well seems to me as though the moderator would be the one to say if we are doing something wrong,,not some self appointed board nazi ,,,,If someone doesnt like what is posted then they dont have to read it,,,This is my opinion and if it isnt liked by someone then they can always choose to read something else,,,,,,Jim

Cindi    Posted 02-28-2003 at 12:46:33       [Reply]  [No Email]
I'm not so sure that they are trying to be controlling as much as just wanting to get away from some of the more depressing topics. That's what I got. Although the term 'board nazi' is very cute and I will retain that for other forums. Lol!

Les...fortunate    Posted 02-28-2003 at 12:03:02       [Reply]  [No Email]
KL used to have another discussion board called "Country People". It got shut down some months ago by the moderator and some people were asked to no longer participate. It was for more of the chit-chatty stuff, not necessarily related to so-called "country living". Since that board went away, this one has sort of been relaxed to take up some of what was once on the other one. I haven't seen too much fuss about it. Not lately anyway.
You're doing fine. Keep it coming.

I like how people stick the knife in, twist it and quickly pull it out at the same time saying they are sorry.

hahahahahahahah

Cindi    Posted 02-28-2003 at 11:44:08       [Reply]  [No Email]
The truth is, I don't like not getting along with anybody and I go out of my way to keep that from happening, but at the same time I will not stand idly by and be ridiculed. We got way out.....err....let me speak for myself. I got way out of hand in a disagreement and I should never have let it go as far as it did, but I have to hand it to you, you are one very tough cookie and despite all the bad stuff I enjoyed our debate. Sincerley. Was that another twist?

Walt    Posted 02-28-2003 at 12:05:42       [Reply]  [No Email]
Actually meant it the other way 'round.

Cindi    Posted 02-28-2003 at 12:14:16       [Reply]  [Send Email]
Well as much as I hate to admit it I'm confused, but that's a fairly normal condition for me so I'm used to it. E mail me if you've a mind to.

I've lived in the "country" all my life, yet I don't know how to define a "country" or "noncountry" topic.
Talk about what you want to. If I agree, I might say so, if I disagree, I might say so, It's my choice. If I don't care about it, I might ignore it. That's my choice too.
What I'm saying is: don't worry about correctness.

seems    Posted 02-28-2003 at 10:36:28       [Reply]  [No Email]
to me that i live country everyday all day, its nice to talk about something else for a change , but on here if that happens somebody will point out its a country forum and a lot of shutt starts , then everybodys gets all heated up , and then those same ones come back and talk non country stuff anyways go figure , you seem to be good at starting conterverisal subjects and that,s not a put down , so i say go for it after all a good day of fighting makes for a better day of boring shutt

big fred    Posted 02-28-2003 at 10:35:31       [Reply]  [No Email]
The only thing that you must always never forget to refuse to talk about is golf.

Scott Hansen    Posted 02-28-2003 at 10:31:03       [Reply]  [Send Email]
You just go ahead and talk about whatever your little heart desires. You won't get no flack from THIS boy.

Cindi    Posted 02-28-2003 at 10:50:40       [Reply]  [No Email]
Well, being somewhat flighty and extremely curious I can't seem to help posting topics that seem to provoke folks. I love to see the to and fro and hear people's thoughts on stuff. There's lots of wisdom here. But since I'm already avoided by Walt, who has that rare grit and tenacity that I was just beginning to enjoy, and now avoids me, and salmoneye who is passionate and funny and now sounds a little tired of the whole deal and the others who make no bones about how they feel, I am a little bit gun shy. Sooooo, I will lay off. Here anyway. If any of you fine folks want to dabble in the controversial you are welcome to visit my forum on occasion. There are very few rules there, you can talk about eggs or pigs or dustbusters I really don't care, it's all good to me. I will still stop by when I have a topic that can only be recognized as a country topic. Ciao for now!

Salmoneye    Posted 02-28-2003 at 11:12:30       [Reply]  [Send Email]
No one is trying to run you off...

My point was that the topics will meander far enough 'off topic' (whatever that is) without starting with a controversial topic to begin with...

I just see a political cartoon like that as baiting people...Not that I don't fully agree with the sentiment that it represents...

Heck...I'll even go so far as to say I like your spunk...

:-)

course you,d    Posted 02-28-2003 at 12:05:41       [Reply]  [No Email]
be the judge of weather its a controversial or not to your way of thinking,

Awww....while I glow under that compliment and appreciate the olive branch I somehow always associate spunky with Sally Feild! I'm more like Maude. Lol! Big old loud mouthed opinionated broad. Seriously though, the majority must be respected as well as the owner of the forum. I'll still be around, I'll just try a little harder to stay on topic.
