I want to take the time to thank all of you for all the good coon advise.I have contacted the Federal Government for a loan on a school bus to help with the relocation problem. They said they would gladly help as long as I don't make the coons stay in the back of the bus.Should I take them up on their generous offer??

My reply too was an attempt at humor, just goes to show you how touchy things are here at the moment. I have been reading Clay's posts for quite awhile now and he seems to me anything but racist. He's a nice guy. He's a funny guy. Maybe we should all just take a breath and lighten up a little.

That is racist and uncalled for    Posted 03-01-2003 at 03:47:45       [Reply]  [No Email]
Tacky. Really tacky.

Once again let me apologize for my tacky remark.I will choose the subject matter of any puns more carefully in the future. My intension was not to offend but to humor

I am truly sorry if anyone was offended by my attempt at humor.I assure you all the remarks that I made was intended to throw off on the spending of the federal government ,not a race of people.

Clay, I usually just read the posts here and throughly enjoyed your prior "adventures with the coon" but when I read this one ,I got a little agitated.........after reading my reply (cooled down) I to wished I had chosen a better presentation of the written word...(skin head reference)No hard feelings on my part ,hope none on yours !!!!!!!!!!!

Your a good man to say that. Its what I figured, but had to throw my 2 cents in. Keep up on that coon chronicle, and any thing else you'd care to share. I like the humor that comes out in your storys- take care- Mike D.

I wouldn't touch this one with a ten foot keyboard. I'm in enough doodoo of my own.

Mike D. Well o.k. then Cindi- I will.    Posted 02-28-2003 at 20:36:58       [Reply]  [No Email]
Interesting that you won't go out on a limb with this one. I liked Clay's struggle with the coon. This, however, brings up a struggle that has caused much hardship on both sides of the fence.
I like Clay's sense of humor. I believe he is good at heart. I think he has had a slip of judgement. It is easy for me to recognize. I have made many slips in judgement. Clay, don't get me wrong here- I ain't stuffy, nor self righteous.
This ain't the place to cross the line on the race issue. If we were at my table I'd tell you the same thing, then pass you the beans. No hard feelings meant. Just feelings about the subject of suffering. We all got our's to bear, one way or another. Mike D.

Some puns aren't liked if not politically correct. They can be subtly funny though. RN.

I remember my Grandparents telling me they had to ride in the back of the bus and being called coons. Interesting you say that.
