cindi, you have a lot of good info to share with the people that read this forum.
i enjoy some of your posts, but it seems like you are always trying to get somebody wound up about something or the other.
i know sometimes certain topics need to be brought up, so that everyone can see what is going on around them, but you seem to dwell on controversial subjects most of the time.
i for one enjoy a little good natured debate once in a while. it just seems your posts always seem to bring a fight with them.
i am not asking you to not post, i am just wanting to know what you think you are adding to this forum by getting people stirred up?
you have the right as an american to post what you want to,when you want to.i don't want you to think i am trying to tell you not to. it just seems the last few posts you have sent have been on subjects that get people fired up!
i don't understand why people want confrontation, if it gains nothing.
i am 38 and have lived in the country and farmed all my life and i understand why people that live in town want to move to the country.i do not think that give these people or anyone else the right to come in to the small farm areas and tell the locals"ok, here's how were gonna do it now".
as for your post about your neighbor, the older man with the cows.i have a neighbor up the road from me that carried the mail and milked.his cows were out almost every day.he was trying to milk and carry the mail.he had a brother that was 10 years older than he was that was disabled.gary took care of J.D. the best he could, milked the cows and carried the mail.i have put his cows back in,helped him put them back in and in fifteen years never once did i call the sheriff.
if you are going to live in the country, you need to learn to live the way we live, not try to adapt us to your way of living.
gary passed away about a month ago. he was 48.
i know that he had no problems with his neighbors, and no one had any problems with him.
life is not about ME,ME,'s about all those around you that makes things good!
i am sure i will get blasted about this post, but what the heck. i know where i stand ........PP

Aww, nuts, I typed 2 replys and deleted both of them, here's all I can say.

Give me a friggin physical break!!! If that's all you have to gripe about, then this is where you reached you're peak.
A little mental stimulation might do you some good. This is exactly the reason so many of us stay off of this board.
When the self appointed posting facists start posting to others about their content, it's either time for them to open their own site (ya could do that ya know) or they want to controll the content of the site that they visit and can't rule.
Either way I hope that Cindi keeps posting, I hope the old crowd sticks around, and I hope that some day you get enough of a life, to be able to pass over a topic that offends you, instead of trying to controll the topics, why don't you contribute your own, that way you can draw attention away from the mindless dribble that offends you so much.
Try to get over yourself a little, it's only life and you'll never get out of it alive.
Good luck in your next life

well now,,,from the post about trolls sounds like everyone is guilty, from the person who posts something considered inflaming to the person who gripes about it,,, Keep posting what you want Cindi,,those who dont like it can choose to not read your posts, the rest of us will keep on reading and enjoying,,,Jim

It has been 3 mths since I have visited this forum and a whole lot has changed. Apparently there was a bit of an uprising. About that I'm clueless, but I will say that the post have changed. We all use to banter about day to day life, our families, and country living in general. There was a sense of harmony and that seems to be missing. Anyone care to tell me why?

Willy-N I think us allmost going to war is!    Posted 03-01-2003 at 21:34:03       [Reply]  [No Email]
I think the uprising has something to do with going to war. Some people are real nervos and I just wish they would get it over and quit talking about it. Mark H.

You may well be right in this one...

Cindi, the only thing wrong I've seen with your post is you seem to worry too much about what the rest of us think. I enjoy your post and since I haven't got anyone around to talk too it would get boring if we just talked about gardens, chickens, etc. Don't change you post, if I don't like it I could just move on to the next post. Kind of like tv, I can always change channels.

Have a (as one who was unfairly run off said) "a Rainbow Day"

I thought that a troll was something that lived under a bridge and went after billy goats.

trollbuster    Posted 03-01-2003 at 14:49:20       [Reply]  [Send Email]
Here it is,does it describe anyone on here?:

What is a TROLL??????
A troll is someone who usually appears on forums such as this with either unsavory and derogatory replies to posts in place, or initiates posts that are knowingly inflammatory in nature and which many times prompt numerous and heated replies due to their unkind words. This seems to be a game for them and ignoring these unkind attacks is best although difficult

A troll in an internet sense is someone who just likes to cause trouble on a message board. These trolls amuse him/herself by "stirring the pot".
There are actually troll clubs who score points on the number of responses they get to a nasty post. The greater number of responses to the troll's post, the more points they rack up. They start with decent posts and try to come across as helpful, knowledgeable people, get folks to warm up to them. Then the fun begins when the true colors come out and the confusion begins. That's why it's important to identify them and not respond to them.

What is a troll?
The term "troll" can mean a number of different things, but in essence, a troll is a person who aims to have 'pleasure' at your expense. There are two main types of trolls:

1. people who are psychologically disturbed, and seek to feel good by making other list members feel bad. This is a sort of "psycho troll", whose deception involves deceiving themselves as well as others. In this respect, they are no different to the sorts of people we meet in everyday life who are disturbed - some of them are easy to spot, and others aren't. Such people may even use their real names on the internet, and they may not even realise that they are "trolling" because it is all subconscious.

2. people who pretend to be someone that they are not - they create personae that you think are real, but they know is fictitious

To the person wanting to find the old post about trolling, you can find it by going to Archives. Just type in "Trolls" in the search box and it will come up, along with all the follow-up thread. That post was made by Nan in Texas and was excellent.
