At least you tried. Of all the years I farrow'd sows the one thing I did learn is that you can't keep all of the little pigs. Things just go wrong from time to time. The thing I hated the worse was when a sow would have a few runts in a litter. After a day or so they would get weak from not being able to compete for food and would just lay there a squeek. This would usually get the sow excited and she would almost always end up sitting or stepping on a healthy pig. I know it sounds cruel,but if you have any of these little knott heads in a litter it is best if you knock them in the head right away to save a few of the better pigs. It took me a few years to realize this myself.
