I posted this last year and almost forgot to post it here again this year. Here is a way to tell how the summer weather will turn out by keeping track of the wind direction each day of March.

Here's how it works. Each day at 1:00 pm you record the wind direction.
Any east wind= A hot dry summer.

North,northwest= A cool dry summer

West, southwest, south= Above temerature and moisture. (good crop year)

At the end of the month you tally up the days and wind directions and that will give you an idea what the weather will be like for the summer.

I got a howler right out of the NNW today.

I think I'll try to remember to plot that, and see how it works out.

You live in Maine...Summer weather will be buggy turning to insect ridden...

I could be wrong, of course...

with droves of flatlander tourists likely, accompanied by superannuated underlicensed old fahts driving 40 foot motor homes up Route 1 at 25 MPH...

Bitter? Moi?

I thought you lived beyond where the flatlanders go? Course, you being one yerself, you can't prolly spot 'em as quick as the natives can ";^)

We don't get as many as they do down Camden way, but ANY is too many for me. That point of view ain't real popular with the local B&B's tho.

And I can spot 'em no problem a'tall. Ain't nobody 'round heah got the money OR the time to drive one of them contraptions.

However...I kinda like those guys in the motor homes when they come by here after crossing the lake on the ferry...

Slows the yuppies in their Mercedes and BMW's down to the speed limit...

The wind here is coming straight out of the south today. So far so good. Remember to record every day in order for this to be accurate.
