Well, today is March 5th, my daughter's birthday. She is mildly retarded due to my (now) ex's actions when I was 8 months p.g. with her. Right now I have no money, no job and my car was just repo'd. Due to a fall in November, I have a partical torn rotatar cuff. I was attacked my the woman that lives across from me and now she is charged with battery. That's one court case. The other is against the landlord about the companion dog for my daughter. They knew and approved him before we moved in. I read almost all the posts here and know how lucky all of you are. I'm glad for you, just wish I could give my daughter more. Do not even have the money for a gift for her. She understands all this, bless her heart. To top off her "day", the ex was going to come down from Va. 1st time he has shown her any attention in over 22 years. Last week she called him and wanted to know if he was still coming, he told her no, that he wished he had never had her. Happy birthday, kid. I love her with all my heart, just hope you all know how "well off" you are.

Happy Birthday to your daughter, Juliana! I sincerely hope that things get better for you two in the near future. Sometimes it seems that everything is turning to excrement around us, but we each have the power to choose how to perceive it. It is up to us to choose to find the silver linings and never give up! When you hit rock bottom, there is still hope because there is nowhere to go but UP!

When life give you lemons, trade them for limes and make margaritas. ----Maggie/TX

Happy B-Day to your daughter Juliana - Your situation makes me think that God must have known what a wonderful mother and strong woman you were to be able to endure such hardships. Be proud in that knowledge. You're in my prayers.

Juliana may the good lord bless you and your daughter. I'll pray that you get relief from some of the stress that you are dealing with in your life now. I have a 13 year old daughter who is severely retarded and autistic. And even though these special children may not meet other folks expectations of what normal is, they are truly angels who bless our lives every single day. And Happy Birthday to your daughter

First of all HAPPY BIRTHDAY to the daughter. Do know what you're talking about, lost everything I had worked hard for about 7 or 8 years ago. But here I am today, scraping and trying. The most important thing is we woke up today. Great to be us! We must be able to change a little something today. As for a gift, I like Cindi's idea. Today is a blessing, treat it as such.

While I do realize how well off I am because of God's blessings, thanks for the reminder, it's my birthday too and that makes me appreciate things even more.

Happy birthday corn, hope it's a good one for you. Juliana, try to remember it's all temporary and try to be grateful for even the tiniest bone that life throws you. We are in the middle of a terrible bancruptcy, have lost two vehicles, our boat, our credit, couldn't buy a tomato on time right now. Trying to learn how to feed and clothe five people on about sixty-seventy bucks a week. As for that ex, lose his phone number. No contact is better than bad contact. Hope things bet better for you. Sounds like you have a very sweet little girl there. I don't know how old she is, but try this. A homemade book of 'free coupons' good for one for an 'anytime walk together'...etc. She gets to choose when you go, even if it's midnight (as long as it's safe)One for an anytime dinner at McD's, she gets to choose when, and so on. You know her better so you know what to make the coupons for. Good luck.
