Guys,

How in the heck do I get rid of a mole? The little varmint is tunneling up my whole yard and I can't hardly mow the grass anymore. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated...

I wait till I see the mole working, actively pushing the dirt up in the hill and I shoot right where I see it pushing up with either a 22 rifle or a shotgun. Thats what a call Gettn er done!

My brother once had trouble with a groundhog. He got rid of it by pouring a cup of bleach, and then a cup of ammonia right after the bleach into the hole, and then filling in the opening to trap the critter. The mix makes a poisonous gas(nerve gas I'm told) that kills it. Open up a tunnel and do the same thing, it should kill the mole(s).

I don't know what you guys are talking about. pouring bleach and ammonia on ir isn't worth a darn. take my advice first fart around the hole then pee then poop in it.....its a deadly gas if you ask me

I have trapped 15 in about the last 3 months-tried all and I mean all the other stuff-trapping is the ONLY thing that works.

They can't stand castor oil. Do a search for "Ed Hume Mole Formula" on the web. Ed has a nationally syndicated gardening show, and he and several folks I know swear by it. It is castor oil mixed with other stuff that serve to spread the oil out and let it soak in. Nothing exotic, mostly just castor oil, detergent and water I think.

We have two different style mole traps and neither prove effective. We have also heard of numerous ways to discourage mole but I have concluded that the reason there are so many ways is because none of them work. Treating a lawn with Diazinon or a comparable material is supposed to kill their food supply which should discourage the activity. Tramp down their tunnels and keep an eye on the area. If you see one working, dig him out. We catch a lot of moles that way but there is always one to take his place.

You can use Juicy Fruit Gum. Jab the tunnel with a butter knife at intervals and place a stick of Juicy Fruit gum down into it. The mole likes the gum and will choke on it. Only Juicy Fruit works, but don't ask me why.

Another method (inexpensive) is to use human hair. Go to your local barber shop and gather the cuttings at the end of the day and make an opening in the tunnel and place hair in the tunnel.

dont be on such a power trip and just let it go. leave it to a human being. if you cant kill it with your bare hands then leave it up to natural selection, and leave it alone

And he ruins your beautifully manicured lawn and ruins the re-sale value of your home. Sorry my friend, it's economics....he needs to go somewhere else!
