yeehaw,, though it is starting slow,, the neighbor next place over started boiling,, almost got to syrup, but did not have enough sap to finish, wind was out of the south, and the taps did not run as well as we wanted, so we flooded the pans ,and will be that much closer to syrup tommorow,, but wanted to state, and say that it is a sure sign of spring coming,, and the sugar house was jumping, I guess there is nothing like a sugar house with the look and smell of sap boiling to get the neighbors together,, it was great,, there were people stopping in and saying hello, some stayed a while some just long enough to poke a head in the door and say hey!!!!!,, still plenty of country folk out there enjoying times of days gone by,,,,, just wanted to share, a little,,,, I also took my sons there for a while,, I was out with my 9n and drove there,, then went to pick them up,they were so much questioning it all and learning,, that is what it is all about,, it was great to see that even in these times of uncertainty,,, there is and hopefully always will be a place to gather,,, a sugar house only being one of them,, neighbors in a small town are awesome! at least on my road and area, they seem to be there in good times as well as bad, the bad was when they got together after my accident and pulled together and got my firewood cut and chores done for almost 2 years, I am grateful and thank God everyday for where I decided to settle and raise a family.
pat,,,,
