Kids and Spring Mud ...

Beautiful spring day up here today. Snow's a melting, nice and warm, lots of water and mud. Went for a little walk around the neighbourhood and watched a few little guys down the street playing in the mud with tin cans, sticks, rubber boots, etc. Great thing to watch, there probably isn't a TV program or computer game on earth that those kids would choose over what they were doing. Reminded me of years ago, and also the fact that kids really haven't changed much (but our society has). Too bad really, we could all stand for a little bit of playing in the mud now and then. Anyways, is't gonna be a great day!

Makes you wish you were a kid again, doesn't it!?

I have played in the mud every chance I got for more than 50 years, and if the Lord is willing, I hope to continue for a lot more. Of course sometimes I use things a little more mechanized than tin cans and sticks. But I get great satisfaction manually digging ditches and getting water to stay on my property rather than running off. We all have our little hobbies!

Been gathering sap off and on with the 8N for weeks...Never ceases to amaze me when I drive along and the big old rear tires push a wave of mud all the way to the front tires in the ruts...

Make me giddy ;-)

The Girl and I have also been making 'rivers and waterfalls' with the snow melt...

Locked back up some last week, but with the new snow, I am betting tomorrow afternoon will be a good 'river' day here...

Now...If my Beaners didn't leak so much...

Salmoneye, I envy you. I wish I had a little one to play with again. Guess it won't be much longer now though, first grandchild is due in three weeks.

Congrats on the grand-baby!

Won't be but a year or two, and you can buy the kid their own set of mudboots and a shovel!
