Weed control in oats????

anybody got any ideas what to use for broadleaf control in oats the grass is fine as this is hay but i have some thistle and some other broadleaf weeds that need to go thanks mike

The best herbicide I've found for hay patches is to fertilize good and keep it mowed regular. If you mow down short every 4 to 6 weeks and keep it fertilized the good grass will choke out the weed crop.

If it's over run with weeds then 2-4-D will kill the weeds but it will also kill clovers. That does'nt usually really matter because the weeds will have already choked out the clover anyways.

this is a dryland 1 cutting field and it would be nice to clean it up some and get out the undesirables thanks for the ideas ,mike
