Hi

Antique question..."horse driven power plant"
I wondering if somebody knows the name of a device
on which one or two horses walked on an apron
connected to a large wheel which was used with
stationary equipment as treshing machines...
saw mills...hay balers and others. There were
smaller ones for dogs for smaller machines too.. grinding wheels water pumps an others.

Will appreciate to have a site address with some
photos. Please if you Email me put horse in the
title in order for me to identify your message
among all the junk mail.

Many thanks in advance

I believe they were called Tread mills. Dogs and goats would run the household things, butter churn etc. and the bigger ones for a horse or mule would do the barn yard stuff. Not enough power for a sawmill.
