We use a drop of sweet oil (found in the pharmacy) warmed in the microwave a tad....until the pain subsides...

My vet recommended a 50/50 mix of rubbing alcohol and vinegar applied with a Murine ear-cleaning squirter.

Mix 90% rubbing alchohol and 5% glycerin.
Total, about $3 for a years supply.

Everyone I know fills the ear with alcohol (rubbing) let's it drain, and then it dries the ear out.

I have swimmers ear now and I don't even swim. I don't know how I got it. I have not been near the water except showering and I have severe swimmers ear in both ears???? I have been in severe pain for five straight days now. I am on antibiotics orally and drops we'll see, I hope to be able to sleep soon, I haven't slept in four nights.

I have swimmer's ear too but I know how I got it. We have a pool! I love to swim but now that I am on antibiotics and ear drops I can't get in. I haven't slept in 3 nights and neither have my parents. I have taken alot of ibuprofen and that seems to help. I just wish I could get that bubbling sound out of my ear. I know there is water trapped in there. How do you get it out?
