My rooster's comb is an odd shade of red and he is opening and closing his mouth, barely making a sound. He looks like he's trying to make a bowel movement. He's still standing, but isn't too steady.

Any advice???????????

I'm sorry to say, but it's time to have fried chicken! That rooster doesn't sound too good.

You don't give a lot of info, but the off-color comb is usually a sign of oxygen debt. How old is he? If he's old, that just might be the problem.

You *might* try worming him, but usually by the time they're showing these kinds of symptoms they are in an urgent situation and I wouldn't be overly hopeful. If you really like the bird, find a local vet who will look at him.
