Sharecrop farming

I know of a CPA in Nebraska that does all his investing with farmers sharecropping. I live in the Denver area and was only born on a farm, I do not know the business, but am interested in knowing about the investment side for the non-farmer.

Here in Kentucky, it's mostly like this:
Landowner furnishes Land, seed, Fertilizer; gets 50% of crop.
Farmer furnishes seed, fertilizer, landowner gets 1/3rd of crop. Farmer does the work in both cases.
