I found this list and I've just loved it, We live in Decatur Alabama me,hubby and 4 kids(2 girls and 2 boys). I stay home with the kids while hubby works at the local computer factory. We are saving for a home in the country. I love country life and country people and I hope to make a lot of new friends on this board. You all seems so nice. My hobbies are sewing ,gardening, reading and yardsaling(I'm addicted) I also sell part time on ebay(kids clothes shoes and stuff, just enough to reinvest in new yard sale kid apparel :) Anyway enough about me, I've got to start up the grill for hamburgers and hotdogs. Don't you just love summer time?

Hey Julie! You are already in a great part of the country. I'm originally from B'ham, but my Dad was born in Danville, and I love that area! If you're looking for farm land in the area, check out the Danville area and especially the Johnson Chaple road to see if there is something available. Truly God's country and really fertile land. :)

Maggie I think Danville got annexed into Moulton.

That very well could be. Had kinfolks with a Moulton address also.
When I was growing up, we always went to Memorial Day gatherings at Johnson's Chapel, where a lot of my ancestors are buried. I've still got distant cousins in the area that I've never met in person yet - just online. Ah, the wonders of online genealogy! :)

Thanks for the welcome! We have Danville road here in Decatur but I don't exactly know where Danville is.I'll ask my hubby when he gets home. My husband is from Moulton, he graduated from Lawrence County High School. Actually we are looking to try to buy a house either in Moulton or Trinity. The cost of living is A LOT cheaper in those areas. We are going to see Grandma in Moulton today, she's supposed to give me a start off one of her burning bushes and some poppy seed to plant next year. Grandma volunteers for the historical society in Moulton and does family trees for everyone so she may know your family Maggie.

Danville is out west of Hartselle on Hwy 36 about 10 miles best I remember.

A woman after my own heart. I too am a wife and mother full time, and it is a full time job done right. :) We are trying to move to the country ourselves. I live southside of Atlanta Ga, and wanting to get outta town. Its just gettin harder and harder to find somewhere unspoiled. I been looking down in Jackson, GA, and have found an exit with nothing but a BP gas station, everywhere else is farmland. My husband doesn't want to drive an hour to work, but it looks like theres not much of a choice. Anyway, I only have one little one, she is 8, but I do have a variety of animals. I have a border collie which is like my second child, two 13 year old cats, two finches, with 4 babies and 2 eggs left to hatch as of today, a 9 year old iguana, and a fancy mouse. Well, I will ramble on forever, glad to have a neighbor. I hope y'all find your spot in the country. I look on realtor.com and other places all the time, dreaming.... Welcome to this wonderful site, everyone is so nice. I am somewhat new myself. :)
