I understnad that Avon "Skin-So-Soft" will protect horses from flying insects. Can anyone tell me the ratio of water to be used. Also, if there is any other remedy, it would be appreciated.

Jackie, when I used to sell AVON, they always told us to just use it full strength as a bug repellent and that is what I do. I use it on myself and spray it full strength on my dog. You can also use Mexican Vanilla extract to repel mosquitoes and gnats, but I don't know about it it'll work on horse flies.
