Ivy isn't too bad to start, but it is like putting in a garden and will require weeding a bit until thick. Mulch in between and will help keep weeds down.
Another idea is hosta, like the shade and take up a lot of room. There are some real nice varieties, some monster blue ones that look great. They die back in the fall though. They also flower, some even smell kinda pretty.
Ferns look nice also. Good combo look with the bulky look of the hosta.
Time to get ready to mow a few lawns today. Finally getting caught up after all the rain we've been having.
