Terro , it's available in most grocery stores. Stuff worked great for me. They take it back to the nest, and soon the whole nest is dead.

yep, been our solution    Posted 06-17-2003 at 05:20:53       [Reply]  [No Email]
We've used Terro for decades now. Not very toxic to people and pets, but gets rid of ants in a few days. Bought a little bottle of it in Texas in 1979 and still have it, because a few drops is all it takes to kill off the whole colony.

We use this every year and they don't get into the house...PERIOD...."Spectracide Trizicide". Most feed stores/garden centers carry it.Harmless to animals. You spread it around the foundation of the house and also in the basement if you have a dirt cellar. Been using it for the past 7 years...results are great. If it is carpenter ants an exterminator...Quick!

The only thing I've found that works is poisoned bait. A sugary substance that attracts them, which they in turn take back to the nest and share with the queen. That's assuming that you have sugar ants. What are they getting into?

I had a family in the Chevy I bought,We tried all kinds of things. But they lived to laugh about it.They got into the seats and would bite the driver on the move. They got into the altenator and shorted the diodes. Finally I got a box of ant motels and threw them around in the car.The ants all died dead as a doornail in a day or two.I forget the brand but a big box is about 4 bucks. Well worth the cost.
