Jake brought home a hundred fifty pound wild hog last night. He's getting downright spoiled. Got it in less than thirty minutes. It was dripping rain and just about dusk when he spotted her. He came back for the pickup and dragged her up to the shed, hoisted her up on the gambrel, cleaned her and cut her up all by himself. He didn't get in the house until midnight but when he came in he was glowing, exhausted and filthy. I tried to help him but he wouldn't let me. He did encourage me to go get the camera though. Bbq ribs tonight! Woohoo! Now if we just had some blue bell ice cream for desert.

Amen... Jimbob    Posted 06-20-2003 at 08:39:33       [Reply]  [No Email]
As the saying goes 'There is a god'. I would pay $20 to go to that feast.

My son Hog Hunter would enjoy that.
Sounds like his kind of adventure.
Does Jake have hog dogs that hunt with him?
Nothing HH likes better than a good hog hunt;
grabbing hold of a great big boar hog.
I think he is a hog wrestler at heart.

He's just getting into hog hunting with dogs, but for now he uses a rifle. He only has to wrestle the domestic hogs on occasion. Once he went out to get a hog and came back carrying a twenty pound boar. No rifle. Here he comes through the grove packing this screaming little red hog. Left his gun in the woods. Ended up selling the hog to another boy. He's a trip. I will never understand how he managed to catch that hog in the wide open. I wish I could have ben there to watch. Those things are fast!
