I'll be 55 on Labor Day. I live in a small country in Southeastern North America, called Soganofla. It is bisected by an imaginary political boundary that some people call "the Georgia/Florida line." I was born and raised in the portion of Soganofla that Georgia claims as theirs, but now live in the part that Florida claims.
We have 20 acres just North of Greensboro, Fla, with some nice old barns, a few pecan trees, and assorted other assets. I and Mrs DanG have between us, seven grown chilluns and 11 granchilluns, a few dogs, horses, goats, chickens, and an untold number of barn cats. Life be good. :-)>>>

DW, If you really want to know my age you can find it by doing this little calculating exercise. Oh, by the way I am a retired math teacher and live on 20 wooded hillside acres in southwest Wisconsin. Here goes:
Pick a number, then add the number one bigger than your number to your number, Now add 133 before dividing by 2. Now since this is my age not yours, subtract your number and the result is my age. Have a good day.

Milk Maid    Posted 02-26-2002 at 04:47:27       [Reply]  [Send Email]
I came up with 60. Did I pass my math test?

Been hot and dry as all get out this summer around here, most of the beans won't be worth combining. There's such big cracks in the ground, little kids have to carry a long pole to keep them from falling in too far. All last week the heat index was around 105 along with a bad air advisory. Another 6 weeks though and we'll be looking for the long johns again.

Steve    Posted 08-12-2001 at 19:37:09       [Reply]  [Send Email]
It was 101F here today. I'm not sure what the heat index was. We got a decent rain today also so that helped fill in our cracks. I know what you mean about them. You could tie ropes on the kids so you could pull them out.

Dream Weaver- For your records, I'm 60 and going on 30. I'm in Woodward, Iowa, a little town about 30 miles NW of Des Moines.

Hope you're working this toward the idea of a big on-line family picnic, like we discussed a while back. Keep in mind that we got the very secluded and exclusive LZ Knee available for it if you need. Big grin here, IHank

Dave 2N    Posted 08-12-2001 at 16:56:10       [Reply]  [Send Email]
Hi Burr-
Why is it I believe only half of what you said, like the half about where you live?
How's the weekend going? It finally cooled off a little up here.
Went out to hog with the "dorf" and the left front tire was flat; goes with the territory around here. We have some nasty stuff called multiflora rose that was imported from Scotland back in the 30's for hedges and fencerows. However, it can't tell a fencerow from an open field. Anyway, since I've only got a few acres left to do, I hit the tire with some of that "Slime" stuff and it's holding. Hogged this afternoon and that old "dorf" is a tough little baby!
Just knew you would want to know this.
Have a good evening.

I am glad to see that my dad answered honestly...:-) I am 32, live in Boone, Iowa which is 14 miles straight west of Cyclone Country (Ames)! Have a hubby who's 37 and an almost 7-year-old daughter who thinks she is 27...groan. We have a mutt Sadie and a cat Jim and we USED to have chickens until Jim made his way into the coop. We got rid of the "havin' kittens on the roof" mama that some of you heard about last summer.

Have a great day!
