I have a Kenmore washing machine, model number 110.26801692. that has a loose lid switch, hanging by the wires under the top cover. I need to remove the top cover. My question is how do you remove the top cover of the washing machine?

there's 2 clips , one on each side of the top front(in the top seam)about an inch from the sides going to the center, place a stout putty knife in seam and push in , the top will lift up when they release..... should be able to get to the switch......
