Hello every one!! I've been lurking this board for some time, posted a couple of times. Now I was wondering if any one knows how to get rid of large ferns in a pasture I want to use for hay. I live on the west side of WA. state about 70 Mi. from Seattle. Ferns grow well here!! Tanks WRP

I have ferns too. Mine are called bracken ferns. I spent all spare time one summer pulling them out by the roots. Also I have limed heavily and overseeded with various pasture grasses and clover. I only have the odd one come up now. I also have yarrow, which seems to be a tough one, the above exercises don't seem to work, any ideas?

Are you sure they're ferns and not ragweed, which has ferny-looking leaves?

Ferns are in abundance here too - we love them in the forest part but they grow 2X as fast as the grass and we mow them right over where we can, the ones that are coming up in walkways and such along with the weeds have all shriveled up with the vinegar and salt reciepe - and it didn't bother the dogs either !!!!
