For your kind comments. Denise, you and Lee are really talented. I kin pound a nail pretty good, but my wife says all my taste is in my mouth.

(Not true, after all, I married her, right? ":^)

BTW, Denise, I have my daughter working on some hex signs for my barn too. They're not common up here (in fact, I don't recall ever seeing one) so it'll give the neighbors something else to wonder about. Most of 'em are already convinced I'm a couple of fries short of a Happy Meal...

I can relate, everyone we know told us were were nuts when we bought that house -
Then when we decided to make this move they couldn't believe we were selling it!!
Building this log cabin has been alot like your hobby farms - we can sleep in - or not, work on what we want, when we want, take time to play, and adapt as we go...
Life is good.

I was gunna sign your book but it put me back to a Yahoo problem that I coudn't get past.
FYI - I would have typed how much we enjoyed your page and how much we liked your new barn (lee only drooled a little..)
I think he is missing his barn more than I miss the old house!
here is the barn before work started

and after -

Denise - I thought I had seen some pretty impressive stuff on this board, but you and Lee take the cake! You guys could have your own This Old House Show! Congrats on a job well done! F15! You too! I hammer with my shoes!

Yes, Denise, ya'll do a fantastic job! DW, I hammer with shoes too, or whatever I can reach at the time. Usually, I injure myself before it's over.

I'm glad you all liked the house and barn pics. We had alot of fun bringing them back to life.
We porch was original as was all the interior woodwork - how lucky we were to find one that was not yet remuddled! (a trade off for 30 years of neglect) We in turn added all the gable details, corbels, and vintage style builtins thru out the house. The screen house gazebo on the barn was an after thought - being we moved the door to the side we had a 20 foot red wall that needed something... but needed to complement the house.
