I'm new here so I wanted to say hi. I also stumbled on a "tip" about raising ducks from eggs in an incubator by someone in New England dated sometime in 2001. There was no name or email address so no way to contact this person. I tried to seach the archives but didn't come up with anything.
I would really like to build an incubator and try hatching some duck eggs. Anyone out there have sugguestions?

Bernie, there are several folks who come by here fairly often who will know exactly what to tell you. In the meantime, try going to archives and type in "incubators" or "duck eggs" or various ways to word what you are looking for. The more ways you think of to word it, the more likly pages you will find. Good luck with it and welcome to the board. (I am not the welcome wagon, I just saw ya here first. lol!) :)

I know all too well about varmints. My Border Collies are the worst! (Not enough sheep to keep them all busy enough..)If my dogs can't get them, nothing else can either....
And thanks to the welcome. :-)

Bernie! Welcome! A fellow Border Collie lover! I have one myself. Tell me about yours! I will tell you my story of how I got mine.

Uh, which one? I have 9 of them... And only 4 sheep (for now - I finally got a little piece of land and have to clear some trees so my dogs can work the sheep without knocking themselves out on a tree) I have Indian Runners to do some work, but my male ducks are getting nasty. Funny to see a flock of ducks chasing a BC around the yard. (ummmm....thanksgiving dinner.....) I only have two hens penned with a male and they are laying every day.
I did some trialing but I've been working so hard to get my own place that I haven't had time or money to enter this year. We do some dog sledding in the winter just to keep them from driving me crazy.
