High Blood Pressure- My Solution
[Return to Topics]

I know some of you work very hard (exercise), but I should share this.

A few years ago I had 180 over 120 blood pressure. I was fat at 230lbs & never got more than 6 hours sleep. Doctor precribed a dose of 125 milligrams per day of Verapamil. This kept the blood pressure around 135 over 85 while sitting.

This year I have lost 40lbs and got lots of excersize building a pole barn & other items. One night, the blood pressure was only 90 over 50 while watching TV. I stayed up all night on 'that one' letting my system flush the Verapamil out.

Without meds, I now have mabby 110 over 70 while sitting & 120 over 80 while mildly working.

Lose the fat & get exercise as it worked for me!

I am trying the lose weight/exercise thing now.
I will let you know how I come out with the BP.
I tried Norvasc, and now am trying Triamedene (sp.?) Did beautiful on Norvasc, didn't know if
it caused muscle aches in my legs or not. Or was it the excercise? It gets so confusing, I want
to lose the weight so I don't have to worry
about pills. Wish me good luck.
Life style changes do bring those numbers down.
Especially the bottom one for me!

Skiny guys often are a result of overbearing wives who have many outdoor handyman projects going on.My brother was never overweight.

Boy if that don't sound like sour grapes! lol
At that rate, i must have married a real keeper cuz last year's pants never fit & always afraid of scales. I tend to follow horse schedules - i remember marveling at how 2 weeks pulling a plow transformed our team from flea-bit strawpile huggers to practically thoroughbreds - hey, if it's good enough for them, should work for me! (Been working on the first week all spring. :)
