I dont have the facts on hand here,They might be hard to get.The total facts I mean. But if the general accounting office could get the real information to total up and stick it on a graph sheet I think we would learn one area of the economy is booming like never in past history.Vast fortunes are being made in this industry.Basicly it could be listed under vices and vanity.

The economy still sucks big time here. The only jobs available are low wage ones like waitressing, fast food, and day care. Most businesses keep their people on parttime status so they won't have to give them benefits. Lots of workers running around unemployed but they won't show on the statistics because they don't qualify for unemployment benefits. Housing is down, and why would anyone buy those new vehicles even at 0%? My niece owns a restaurant and she says she's very busy still, but it's all elderly---the workers and their families are not coming anymore, even the welfare are not eating out as much, but the elderly are there every day. As much a social event for them as food, she says.

When you can buy a new car for 0% financing, you got to know things are not booming.

Willy.....Even in the world of survival a big wad of money could make you ahead of the game.I often have the window of opprotunity slam down on my fingers just as I get ready to crawl through. No matter what happens I live to see a new day.

I have been through a few hard times! Funny part is the sun keeps coming up every day for the last 51 years of my life. I have plenty to be happy about and I bet it keeps coming up long after I am gone. My life is only a Nano-second on this earth. Mark H.

Willy,,I think it was you who had a pic back there holding the M60 MG.From there on forward you can be thankful that things of the future are not likely to get much worse than those days yet there were things to laugh and smile about even then.

Well,,, based on the prices our kids got for their livestock at the county 4H fair last night, WAY DOWN! I'm really disappointed for our county's kids - many, I'm sure didn't even break even on expenses.

Plenty of work here in the Champlain Valley for anyone that wants it...

Signs everywhere...I get asked a couple times a week if I want to work construction or roofing...

Not in my area. Keeps me working 7 days a week. Then again I work for weekend people out of NYC. If one sells, another buys. Speaking of which, gotta run and mow 6 or 7 lawns before it rains. Enjoy the day.

I know that our economy is different than say the '50s & '60s. What helps is the pure volume of transactions from a larger population.
