I have a driven pulley of 5 3/4 inch OD.I am replaceing it with a pulley of 7 1/4 inch OD.Can you tell me the ratio? What percentage of speed diffrence will be on driven end? Will driven end with 7 1/4 od instead of 5 3/4 od will be > Slower? Faster? I will check by later..Busy now.

DxPi=C. 5.75 x3.1416=18.0642. 7.25xPi=22.7766 22/18 whatever =.7931 speed reduction. power/torque increase 1.26. RN

OR? 5.75 divided by 7.25= .793 < Is reduction factor.They both seem to work out.

I may be wrong but I think the raito change will be 2.50 and the driven side will run slower but will have more power. The speed is relative. I also feel safe in saying that I will be corrected if I am wrong.

HA HA!! That proves it! Yore a redneck! Vic I have not figured it out to argue your answer.But I bet you are on the money.I know it will be slower on the driven end and give a lower ratio.So thanks for the estimation..I thought you was going up coutry and crank that Farmall....Too hot out here for me..

Most everytime things work out.Maybe not as expected nor as planned but we are given another day to struggle.We would be very weak if we didnt have worries and problems to give us exercise.This gives us the vitality to enjoy the good times. (HOW'D THAT SOUND?) Hey,,We got this far,We may as well take the bus to the last stop and see what's there.
