i was out on the end of the friveway putting a new post under thr mailbox when one of the local polititions stopped to chew the fat he asked how things were going. well i had just been discussing taxes on this board and i don't beleive, but talking to him ,i somehow kinda wavered from my passive view about the subject. when he left he was talking to htmself and i asked him if he was going to be at the next town meeting. he stammered an answer about being out of town visiting people. i guess he thought i was going to be there to continue the conversation we were having

great job, Bob!    Posted 07-15-2003 at 03:54:40       [Reply]  [No Email]
I'm proud of ya, for whatever that is worth. Wish one of them clowns would walk past *my* place one time, but I guess it is too far to walk...and they probably heard about me anyhow.

The 'Absolutely NO Soliciting' sign I have keeps everyone but the politicians and the Witnesses away...

The Witnesses I don't mind...They're just trying to save my soul...

The Pols I tell to leave...

I've been a registered voter since I was 18 (long time ago) and have always voted. Yet I have never, ever had a pol come visit me.

In fact, the only politician I've ever seen in person was President Nixon who I was privileged to see at Andrews AFB getting off Air Force 1 after a trip...and I guess he wasn't very popular by then.

I'm lucky (unlucky?) enough to live in the 'Village Zone', so the Pols think I have money...LOL

They are kinda taken aback when they get down the drive and see a couple vehicles up on blocks with rifle-racks in the window though...

Interestingly, I never got a single visit till I cleared a little of the brush between me and the road about 6 years ago...Amazing how many people tell me that they had no idea there was even a house in here...Grass down the middle makes em think it is a tractor path...

Well...It is...

Hmm...good for you. Good to shake 'em up every now and then and make them think they have a real job.
