I was thinking today about the elections this year we are about to have and about all the factories that have shut down and all the ones that want to locacte here. We have an old Nuclear plant the County and th government dumped millios into only to have Nasa leave and a Half a$$ed rocket plant come in that lays off the workers regualry to keep from having to pay insurance. Belomont homes went out that killed 250 jobs Dad's and my job are about played out there. We are about to loose another factory and every time someone wants to bring one in the few families that have pull here that own mom and pop salt mines get everything voted out. I know if a good factory came in that offered training and a decent wage came in no one would be there Monday morning to make pallets for minimum wage. We ve lost the shoe factory, the shirt factory, Belmont Homes,a few clothing outfits and have all these industrial buildings for rent. Every county meeting that ive been to when a manufacturer eyes this place or wants to come in they just sit around and ignore the people with the persctive factories. Our supervisor isnt the greatest but hes alot better than the other canidate (he's sorry as buzzard crap).
It seems like our county tries to make itself poorer. One meeting i mentioned earlier about The Cat representative that was offering us another Reman engine plant got asked to get a credit rating to turn in for them. Needless to say he laughed and walked out. One of the car builders from Japan asked to make a sub assembly plant at one of the closed factories but couldnt get the street widened to handle shipping. The County has also added on to the local crop duster field which means more maintenance all for 8 air planes that stay there. . The county also did away with the county dirt pit to make another ball fieled we had 3 already, now when they need dirt to fix a rod they have to dig a pond thats not easy in the winter plus it costs more.
Its funny to see the supervisors driving new trucks each year or hunting in a county truck. I hate to rant and run on about out spupervisors just sometimes i think if they didn have a guaranteed salary , and where like the rest of us that theyd try to do more for this place. Again sorry for the ranting

Boy, here in the county I live in, the supervisors meetings get packed . Not always, but they sure keep close tabs on them. Get some of your neighbors together, go to the meetings and raise the roof . better yet, try to vote them out. May not work, but better than doing nothing.
Our issue here is growth, they have done a poor job in the past. Get the people stirred up enough and maybe things will change. I am not an optimist by the way

We have the same problem in our county. People vote for people they know, people who throw a good barbecue. They don't vote for the issues, but you can bet those supervisors know what the issues are, and they are making sure their pockets are lined.

Wow, sounds like a lot of deadbeats. I do not like lazy people- especially those who could careless about others.
