Is it possible to drive a well with a large heavy weight on guide rails. Our area is sand below 2 feet with some gravel veins.

What I did was weld a 1" shaft on a plate then to a 4" well casing and filled it with lead .
Get a drive point and screw it to a five foot length of pipe , put a drive coupling on the other end . Then a plate of steel with a hole in the size of the shaft loosely .
So when your pounding your hitting on the plate
and it don't mess up your drive coupling so bad
Each time you add pipe reuse the drive coupling to pound on .
You can keep filling the pipe with water to check to see if you hit water cause water won't stand on water .
If your gonna do this by hand be perpared to lose some weight and get strong arms . You could rig up a tripod and do it that way or with your tractor ,

I have driven one well in my life, be careful you don't drive past the "water sand" like I did. You probably won't get the point back out.
