Last week or so I posted a message about the wretched woman who lived next to us. I got LOTS of responses so I thought You would be interested in the LATEST!! Yesterday, Lou and I werein the pool when we noticed a NEW no tresspassing sign posted on OUR post!! Big, bold and taped hideously with some sort of white tape! About the time we noticed it my youngest son was swinging his golf clubs hitting those annoying spikey balls that come from our tree in the back (Is it sweet gum tree)?? Anyway our NEIGHBOR came out of NO WHERE and started truckin' it across her property towards my son. I told Lou she's going to start yelling at Luke again...( she didn't see us in the pool, obviously)!! HEEHEEHEE!! "KEEP YOUR@##$golfballs off my property!" Lou jumped out of the pool dripping wet heehee and started calling out to her. She was startled because like I said she didn't know we were outside. Lou told her he wasn't even hitting any golfballs and what was her problem with us?? What was with the new sign etc..etc..! She said that she (pointing at me) tore down one of my signs and threw it in the ditch in front of my house!! Kountry Friends I swear, I have never touched anything or done anything so childish (to her) heehee! Lou knew I hadn't and continued to try and reason with this woman!! No such luck!! She started screamin', wavin' her arms and threatened to call the law. O.K. Lou's mad now. He told her that since the survey that we paid for she has continued to push her flower beds back where they originally were (our property)that she harrasses our kids and the other neighbors too and she took it upon herself to tie tacky string on our survey post to remind US where the lines were. He went inside got a pair of scissors and started cutting the string!! She was beside herself to say the least. He said if you want to act like 13 year olds he would act like one too. (He's 61) He told her to move the flowers now or tomorrow the would be mowed down!! "well I guess I could cut the back some she said!! GEEZ!!! Lou said NO I WANT THEM GONE!! WE"VE PLAYED BY YOUR RULES LONG ENOUGH!!! She went on to the name calling! She called him a drunk and other choice words!! Hey I can only call him that!! I'm married to him heehee!! (he's not a drunk)(well maybe):~} Then she said (even with the post with string) said this here is on my side of the line. A fence rail with no tresspassing sign on it.. Lou pointed out to the crazy woman where she was wrong or the rail would be behind the string. When Lou got the scissors and started cutting she went and got her camera by the way.. well Lou telling her the rail was ours really upset her a she was screaming again Lou had his hand on the rail.."DON"T TOUCH MY RAILS!!!!!!!!!!" She started taking pictures of Lou so he posed real purty and smiled real big while she was taking pictures of him..She was FREAKING OUT!!! to say the least! Lou had enough and told her that he wanted to talk to her husband when he got home, to talk to some one a little more rational!! This guy is a real big guy..Just a regular ol' country boy who seems to be as nice they come. He's never said anything to us out of the way. About 15 minutes later the WOMAN and her hsband are truckin' it back across their property to where we were. Lou gets up to meet them. She was pointing her finger at her husband screamin' "YOU BETTER BACK ME!!!!" Lou and the poor husband walk off a bit to talk. He never raised his voice just kind of hung his head. Lou told me when he came back over to "our" side what the poor husband had said... "Lou, I can't control her, never could. I can get on to her for the inappropriate behavior but if I do can I have a place to sleep tonight???? He said that he was going to suffer for even talking civil with Lou for the next 3 weeks. (I guess because he wasn't yelling and acting like she did, or because he didn't cocock Lou right then and there!! Lou felt really bad for this guy and asked him well how can I fix this where she's not jumpin' on you?? He just shrugged his shoulders! I then felt really bad after all that had happened when I learned about how this WOMAN was in total control and even her big ol' country boy husband had no say so over anything!! Worst was that this man was going to get the brow beating over this!!! WOW what a day yesterday was!! I wonder what today will bring??? Redd

well you know she isn't right. how safe do you feel? i'm paranoid enough to worry about if she has access to firearms, poisons, etc. run the video 24 hours a day if you have a way. DO Not provoke or do anything that could be considered against the law or offensive. gather information. DO NOT let her tresspass or place signs or other property (items) on your property. but do not remove the signs or items yourself. call the police or better yet, show your evidence to a magistrateand get advise from them, but be sure of the property lines. DO Not, Please DO NOT let her bring you down to her level or it will be hard to defend yourself in litigation.

and finaly, let me tell you this: guy and a local family have a dispute over a right of way. finally the guy freaks out, pulls a shotgun, kill the neighbor, his brother, walks to the neighbors house and blows the neighbors wife away.

knowing the brothers, i doubt that it was an entirely unprovoked thing.

GETTUMMM! You stand there and tell that woman she is a nut, and shes lucky to have a man that would put up with her crazy @ss! Cause if you were him, she would be buried under the porch long time ago! HHEEEHEEE!

Get or borrow a cam corder or even a tape recorder. Take the film of her ranting and raving with the survey to the State Attorney's office and let THEM handle it and give you the right advise. Try NOT to escalate (SP?) the matter, but something HAS to be done about that woman. She's about a bag of chips away from a full picnic basket! Keep us posted.

why don't you offer to buy her house at a realy low price and when she asks are you crazy tell her with neighbors like she has it's not worth more

another solution-    Posted 07-16-2003 at 09:12:56       [Reply]  [No Email]
There is a concrete contractor that has had trouble with his neighbor. His crews leave from his place every morning early. She complained a whole lot about stuff banging, and crew trucks leaving. She raises a stink for months.

The guy tries everything to quiet her. Puts up a privacy fence, plants pines. Finally she calls the police for the last time. They tell her that the place is zoned right. She storms over and screams that she is suing him. Calls him names, interupts his family's dinner.

Next morning he brings in 15 sows to waller along that fence. He has had pigs ever since. She has moved away. Mike D.

Sounds like something I did years ago. Where we used to live, our next door neighbors had two dogs that barked ALL the time at nothing, each other, the moon, whatever. Neighbor claimed our cats made her dogs bark. (We had 3 cats at the time.) I explained to her that it is impossible to keep cats fenced in. One day, we found that she had shot my son's favorite cat and killed it. She said it was making her dog bark. I went right out and tried to find 15 cats to adopt. Had to find cats from 3 different sources, but I did it. She moved away before we did. LOL!

Further evidence supporting my theory that over 90% of people's problems are caused by living too close together.

Zoologists know that putting too many animals of the same species too close together makes them go crazy and kill each other. Humans do this to themselves voluntarily

I'd call the TV station and ask if they wanted to interview the world's worst neighbor. There's often a slow news day to fill, and they get paid to keep you watching. Something like this would work anytime. "Coming up after the break - you think your neighbors are bad? Wait til you meet these!"

Lenore    Posted 07-16-2003 at 09:28:10       [Reply]  [No Email]
I was sort of thinking along those lines.
Today all those judge shows are looking for exciting "cases".
You should call one or two and get on TV and let the world see her.
She is so sure she is "right", she would probably really be prepared to win!
They also pay you to be on the show.
Give you an all expense paid trip to the big city;
Put you up in a nice hotel and buy you a nice new outfit to wear.
The reason I know this; a lady from here got called in as a witness on one of those shows.
She hardly had to speak and had an all expense paid trip.

Years ago, this woman would have been a candidate for shock therapy in a mental hospital. Today, I think she needs a bucket full of Prozac. The woman definately needs some therapy of some kind, as she has a mental problem. Maybe a chemical imbalance? This is NOT normal behavior. I really feel sorry for you that you have to live next door to this wingnut!!

He may be a "big ole country boy", her husband, but evidently not a MAN.
It is a shame but only he can take control.
Maybe he just lets her be the "bad guy" and it relieves him of having to do anything.
I suspect only a legal battle will settle your problem.
That may not work either.

Report the abusive behavior to the police as a matter of record. If affordable, put up a privacy fence on the property line. Check your local inspection dept to secure a legal permit.

Also, you could pursue a restraining order. Maintain a bound daily log of every event. A bound daily log holds up in court. Log-in everyday even if no contact has been done by the neighbor. The police will get angry towards the neighbor over time.

What a shame. I agree with Lenore. The husband is perpetuating her behavior 'You better back me?' My aunt Fanny. Even she knows she's wrong or she wouldn't need to tell her own husband to stand behind her. What a mess.

EXCELLENT advice, Jimbob!! I agree 100%.
