on the radio in a few weeks! I was asked to do an interview about my farm stories by a guy for one of the farm and ranch magazines and I just finished the phone interview a few minutes ago. I'm still shaking like a toilet paper flag.

It's supposed to be broadcast to 130 different stations, he mentioned the Dakotas and Minnesota, parts of Texas and New Mexico along with some others. I was so busy trying to keep my voice from shaking that I was only halfway listening! I'll try to let ya'll know when it's going to be on.

Cindi, we told ya you should be a story teller or writer, or something. I want to know if your going to be on around here. We only have two major country stations around Atlanta, so if Kicks 101.5 or Eagle 106.7 is one of them I would love to know when for sure. Good Luck, keep on keepin on!

Wow Cindi, Congratulations!
I'm sure you'll be much more than just fine.
And also that this is not the last time the world will 'hear' from you..:-)

Go for it. You have the background & may be 'farm-girl of the year'. Remember me when you are rick & famous. I still need guidance on my mini-farm.

It's the rare person who is comfortable from the getgo speaking in front of others. I'm kind of used to it now. I have performed in front of thousands of people. At the Mall in Washington when all eyes and ears were on me, that didn't bother me too much.
But I know doing a radio interview would make me nervous because that is a new thing.

Just relax and enjoy it Cindi.
Clod and I were both on radio in the past.
It was lots of fun!
I was a co disc jockey on a local radio Rock & Roll music program.
Clod was a regular guest on a short wave radio show.
I do remember my first time with a mic in front of my mouth. Giant butterflies just overtook me. I have no idea what I said, I was so nervous. It gets easier as you go along.
I supect Clod never had a single butterfly in his tummy. He is just a natural story teller and has a unique way of saying things. I am groupie of his! ;-) ~Haha

Well having gotten one under my belt my immediate thought was, can I do that over? So I guess I'll be a little less nervous if a 'next time' rolls around. I still can't remember what I said, but the interviewer seemed pretty satisfied with it, so we'll see I guess.

By the way....    Posted 07-16-2003 at 12:20:45       [Reply]  [No Email]
most of the stuff I write starts out here and it's the encouragement from folks like ya'll that has made me pursue this. I can't tell you how much I appreciate the confidence that you helped me find, the kind words, even the not so kind words, helped a lot. When someone says, 'this bores me', I look at it agian and again to find out why. You guys, and a few others like you, have helped me determine what to use and what not to use. That is incredibly helpful.

Keep writing, one day you will find that place, it just happened to me. I stumbled over it in my local paper. That was where I started.

I knew it. I knew you wrote too good to be anything but famous! Good luck with the piece and let me know when it airs. I hope we can get it up here in the commonwealth. Mike D.

Yep, when yer famous, don't forget your roots. Or, as my family said,"Don't forget your ruts." It wasn't until I was 28 that I found out it was just an accent.

Cindi    Posted 07-16-2003 at 10:59:15       [Reply]  [No Email]
Yeah well...guess what.... I don't wanna be famous. I want to syndicate my column to a few dozen newspapers and maybe make a few hundred bucks a month. That's it really. I would just as soon not go anywhere see anybody talk to anybody or anything else.

Just write, send it in, and get paid. Maybe someday write a book or two and be able to pay my bills. Thanks guys.

I'll be glad to. He's supposed to send me a copy of the show along with the stations and hopefully contact information. I'll get it for you!
